You and OPAL.
From the first engine to the finished game. It handles the engines, the projects, the gems, the builds, and the export you ship — so making is all that’s left. The brilliance is yours; OPAL makes sure it shines.
One app for it all.
Engines on tap
Install O3DE straight from the launcher — the latest release, an older version, a pre-release branch, or a full source build. Add your own download sources. Keep multiple engines side by side, then prune the ones nothing is using.
Project command centre
Create and import projects, launch the Editor, run the Asset Processor, and build — full build, configure-only, or clean rebuild — all with status-aware cards that tell you exactly what’s ready and what needs attention. When it’s ready, export a standalone release build from the same place.
Assets & gems, managed
Browse the Asset Library with a real inspector and precise filters. Toggle gems per project. Add repositories, local gems, and watch folders.
Real download & build queues
Pause, resume, reorder, and schedule. Throttle bandwidth. Cap concurrency. Downloads survive sleep and reboot; builds pick up where they left off.
Debug from one place
A unified Logs view gathers every relevant O3DE log — build, CMake, Editor, Game, and Asset Processor — for each project and engine, so diagnosing a failure doesn’t mean hunting the file system.
Set up once, stay ready
A first-run wizard detects your build tools. Configure CMake, generators, thread counts, and O3DE manifest folders, or flip on Script-Only Mode and skip building. When one project needs to differ, give it its own build type, targets, and launch options. OPAL keeps watch after that, and lets you know the moment something changes.
Why OPAL?
Zero-to-editor in minutes
Install OPAL. Pick an engine. Create or import a project. Hit Launch. That’s the golden path — and it’s what you get the first time, every time. The same app takes you the rest of the way, to an exported build you can hand to a player.
Built for how you actually work
Multiple engines installed side by side. Projects pinned to specific versions. Prebuilt binaries or source builds. Per-project build types, targets, and launch options when one project won’t fit the mould. Safe removal that goes to the recycle bin, not oblivion.
Built with love by people who use it
OPAL is built by Genome Studios. It’s the same tool we build our own O3DE games with, every day. We made it because we needed it, so it has to hold up in real work. What you download is what we rely on.
Everything you make is yours.
OPAL handles the rest — every colour of it.
Free to download and use. No royalties, no seat fees.
